1. What temperature can plastic tableware withstand? Is it safe to use microwaves?
Most polypropylene plastic tableware is safe for use down to -20°C and up to 120°C. However, PS and PET materials are not heat resistant and are suitable only for cold food. Each product shows its temperature resistance range clearly on the pack.
2. What are the load-bearing and compressive properties of tableware?
Typically, lid and bowl types of tableware can support a weight of 1-3kg. It is normally possible to increase strength by using certain techniques such as design reinforcements and thickening.
3. Are self-made tableware easy to deform and leak?
The thickened design, reinforced edges, cover-buckles, sealing covers, and other such processes can be used to prevent both deformation and leakage. As far as soup is concerned, a sealing cover and leak-proof film will be good enough double protection.
