Rubbish at our feet, the world in our hearts – Lides Environmental Charity Campaign

As a plastic cup manufacturer occupying 10,000 square metres and equipped with over 40 pieces of modern machinery, we are acutely aware that whilst we produce containers for holding water, the Earth is the only container upon which our very survival depends.

Yesterday, Lides’ employee volunteers took off their work uniforms, picked up litter pickers and bin bags, and headed into the park. We were not merely picking up discarded plastic bottles, cigarette ends and litter; we were using our own hands to mend the rift between humanity and nature.

We produce tens of thousands of cups every day, so we understand the cost of ‘discarding’ all too well. Through this initiative, every employee came to realise that cleanliness should not be confined to the inside of a cup, but should also extend to the ground beneath our feet.

We do not shout empty slogans; we simply use our sweat to restore this land to its original colour. One less piece of rubbish means one more patch of cleanliness. Environmental protection begins on the production line and continues in the streets and alleys.
